Dr. David Weitz was born and
raised in the Hampton Roads area and has been a resident of
Raleigh since 1997. Dr. Weitz graduated from the Southern
College of Optometry in 1995 and completed a one year
residency in ocular disease at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical
Center in Alabama.
Dr. Weitz’s professional interests include contemporary dry
eye treatment, glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, and complex
contact lens fitting cases. Dr. Weitz also serves as a team
eye doctor for the NC State athletic department working with
the football, women’s softball, gymnastics and track team
members. Dr. Weitz is also advisor to ALCON pharmaceuticals
in their ocular allergy division. Clinical research in
contact lens materials has been conducted by Dr. Weitz for
Vistakon and CIBA.
