Dr. Richard Ayuso
Dr. Richard Ayuso was born and raised in New York City. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Fairfield University in 1979. His postgraduate Doctor of Optomerty degree was earned from the State University of New York College of Optometry in 1983.
Upon graduation Dr. Ayuso entered the U.S Army and served five years with tours of duty at the 97th General Hospital in Frankfurt, west Germany and Fort Myers, Virgina. After military services he was in private pratice in Mahassas, Virginia. Dr. Ayuso relocated to Jacksonville, North Carolina in April 1994 to take over as the head optometrist of the eyecarecenter on Western Boulevard. He prides himself on providing excellent care and impeccable customer service. In his words, "We want to treat people the way we would want to be treated."
In his spare time, Dr. Ayuso enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife Jill are constantly on the go participating in the activities of their five children. Dr. Ayuso is an active member in his church, school advisory board, scouting and Rotary. Dr. Ayuso enjoys relaxing with cooking, sampling good wine, sport shooting and hunting.
Dr. Angela MacDonald
Dr. Angela MacDonald began her career as an optician in 1997, but after working in the field several years she was inspired to pursue a degree in optometry. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from NC State in 2002 and then attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. Dr. MacDonald earned the elite honor of receiving the Dean's Award for Excellence for her graduating class.
Dr. MacDonald began practicing in North Carolina in 2006 and joined eyecarecenter in 2011. Her interests are in primary eye care, contact lens fittings, and ocular disease.
Dr. MacDonald was born and raised in Jacksonville, NC and resides there with her husband and two young children. In her free time she enjoys traveling, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family.
