Dr. Truc Ly Tran, OD, resides with her husband and son in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She enjoys traveling, gardening, working out, and baking. Dr. Tran was born in Vietnam and moved to Chicago when she was five years old. She attended Loyola University of Chicago where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology graduating Summa Cum Laude. She then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.

Dr. Tran graduated Cum Laude with her Doctorate in Optometry in 2012. Upon graduation, she completed a residency at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. She can conduct examinations in Vietnamese.
