In-Office Remote Eye Exams

Experience a full eye exam on your schedule with our in-office remote technology. It's quick, thorough, and convenient.

Eye Exams That Fit Your Schedule

Enjoy the convenience of comprehensive eye care delivered in a way that works for you. eyecarecenter now provides in-office remote eye exams, combining advanced technology with the expertise of our optometrists. During your visit, you will be assisted in person while an optometrist in a remote location conducts the exam and reviews your results.

These virtual in-office exams expand our appointment availability, giving you greater flexibility to fit eye care into your busy schedule. Through this remote exam technology, our doctors can identify potential eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.

How It Works

During your visit, an on-site technician will begin by checking your current prescription, taking corneal measurements, measuring eye pressure, and capturing detailed images of your eyes. You will then meet with a licensed optometrist through a high-definition video consultation, allowing you to receive a full, comprehensive eye exam in less than 30 minutes. A member of our team will be with you in the exam room to assist throughout the entire remote visit.

What to Expect During Your In-Office Remote Eye Exam

What To Expect

At your local eyecarecenter office, an on-site technician will guide you to the pre-testing area, where they will check your current prescription, measure your corneas, test your eye pressure, and capture detailed images and videos of your eyes. Additional tests may be performed if recommended.

You will then meet with a licensed optometrist through a high-definition video connection, allowing you to interact with your doctor just as you would during an in-person visit. Your full eye health exam will be completed in under 30 minutes, and an on-site team member will remain with you throughout the entire remote exam experience.

What’s Included in a Remote Eye Exam?

Similar to a traditional comprehensive eye exam, an in-office remote eye exam is designed to detect vision problems and determine or update your prescription. While a full comprehensive exam can take an hour or more, an in-office remote exam is completed in about 30 minutes, making it an ideal option for patients with busy schedules.

Before you meet with the optometrist, an eyecarecenter team member will guide you through several preliminary tests, including eye pressure checks and visual acuity assessments. The results from these screenings are then sent to the remote optometrist, who will review your information, discuss findings, and go over any recommendations or treatment options with you.

The Same Best-in-Class Care

Just like a fully in-person comprehensive eye exam, eyecarecenter’s remote exam doctors are able to identify many eye conditions in their early stages. Our experienced optometrists will review your medical and eye health history, assess your test results, adjust your vision using remote-operated equipment, and address any questions you may have.

After evaluating your exam findings, your eye doctor will determine the appropriate vision prescription. Our goal is to help you achieve clearer vision as quickly as possible, and if a prescription is needed, you will receive it at the end of your appointment just as you would with an in-office exam.
